Behind the ‘blong: An excursion to the printers

Welcome to another installment of BEHIND THE ‘BLONG, where we investigate what those cheeky Oblongers have been getting up to lately.

Here at Oblong, we have an insatiable curiousity that just cannot be… satiated. That’s why last week a couple of us decided to go on a little excursion to the printers, led by our fearless print manager Brad Salsbury. It was amazing to see the huge printers in action, and we learnt quite a lot about the nitty gritty details of offset printing. We think it’s pretty important to be clued-in with every facet of the design and production process as it makes things a lot more efficient for ourselves, our suppliers and our clients. Plus, if an offset printing question ever pops up at trivia, we’ll be all over it like CMYK on uncoated stock.
